On Thursday night, November 18, the third annual commemoration of the
demise of Grand Ayatollah Shirazi was held in Karbala. Thousands of
people attended the event, which took place in the center of Karbala by
the shrine of Imam Hussein, a place called "Bain Al-Haramain." Ayatollah
Al-Qazwini was among the speakers that lectured during the
commemoration. Ayatollah spoke about his reactions when he heard about
the demise of Grand Ayatollah Shirazi. He explained how deep he was hurt
and in grief the from that moment on. Ayatollah Al-Qazwini said that he
had accompanied Al-Shirazi for more than 50 years. His eminence
stated that he only befriended Al-Shirazi because of Al-Shirazi's piety,
humbleness and noble character, and it was nothing personal. Ayatollah
then recited a few poems that he has wrote about Al-Shirazi when he
passed away. He concluded his speech by praising Al-Shirazi and invoking
God's mercy and blessings on Al-Shirazi's pure soul. |
