"In the name of Allah, Most Merciful, Most Compassionate,
Lord of the Heavens and the Earth,
We pray in Your name, the Lord of
Adam, Abraham, Noah, Moses, Jesus and Muhammad.
Oh Allah, we ask that you allow us to open this session with
clear vision and pure hearts to serve the people of this great
state.
Oh Allah, we ask Your guidance, mercy, and inspiration as we
embark on another year of great challenges and greater
potential. Grant us the dignity and honesty to fulfill the
obligations with which we have been entrusted.
Oh Allah, honor the people of this state and this great country
with compassion and mercy taught by Your great Prophet Jesus,
Son of Mary, so that we may continue to build bridges of love
and understanding.
Our Glorious Lord, in these times of national debate and
international turmoil, we pray for the ultimate blessing: we ask
not that God be on Americas side, but rather, we pray that
America is on Your side the side of justice and righteousness." |
