The Universal Muslim Association of America (UMAA) is the first
organized Shi'a annual convention in the United States. It was
formed by a group of devout Muslims in the United States in 2003. They
held the first convention in May during the Memorial Day Weekend
of 2003 in Washington D.C. Muslims from around the country
gathered and listened to lectures by renowned Muslim scholars
from across the U.S. This year, the third annual Convention was
held during Memorial Day Weekend in Washington D.C. Sayid Hassan
Al-Qazwini was among the speakers at the Convention. In addition
to this year, Sayid Hassan Al-Qazwini participated and spoke in
the first and second annual UMAA Conventions also.
Sayid Hassan Al-Qazwini had two lectures during the Convention.
The first was part of the morning main speeches. Sayid Hassan
Al-Qazwini was one of six panelists in a discussion titled
"Muslim Youth at the Cross Road - Addressing Contemporary
Issues." He spoke during his speech about the problems and
difficulties Muslim Youth have living and trying to assimilate
into the American society. He addressed the problems and gave
some helpful solutions to such problems. His second speech was
part of a workshop titled "Islamic Solutions in the rapidly
changing world." |
