On August 29, a group of scholars from all over the
U.S. sent a letter of appreciation and grace to Ayatollah Sayid
Sistani in Najaf for his efforts in resolving the crisis in
Najaf.
The letter was as follows:
"To the Office of Ayatollah Sistani in Najaf
We, the signatory below, are the scholars and
leaders of Muslim communities and centers in the U.S. and
Canada. We express our felicity for the well-being of Ayatollah
Sistani and we support and congratulate his great efforts that
halted the bloodshed and the dishonoring of the holy shrines of
Najaf, especially the shrine of Imam Ali.
We would also like to congratulate his eminence
in the occasion of the birth of Imam Ali. May Allah help us
visit him in this life and grant us his intercession in the
hereafter.
Finally, we ask Allah to protect the "Marji'iya"
and the Marje' and to protect Islam and Muslims. We ask Allah to
help the Iraqi people follow the road of peace in other cities
as did Najaf by settling the arguments between the people, and
the construction of a democratic free Iraq."
Imam Qazwini was among the scholars that signed
this letter. |
