| It was in the year 255 hijri (lunar)
that the savior of humanity was born. The day that all Prophets,
Imams and Angels had awaited. In mid Sha'ban year 255 was the
day that Imam Al-Mahdi was born. More than 1170 years have
passed, and yet the birth of Imam Al-Mahdi, the 12th
and final Imam, is celebrated all over the world.
Muslims all over the world celebrate the birth of Imam Al-Mahdi every year, including this year. On
Friday October 1,
Imam Sayid Hassan Al-Qazwini celebrated the birth of the holy
Imam Al-Mahdi at the Young Muslim Association. Imam Qazwini delivered a
speech in the program in which he shed some light on the life of
Imam Al-Mahdi. He mentioned the the role of Imam Al-Mahdi, his
importance, and our role with respect to Imam Al-Mahdi. Sayid
Hassan also discussed the philosophy behind the Imam's
occultation. Sayid Hassan emphasized on the importance of celebrating
the birthday of the Imam, and he said that it is our duty to
remember and commemorate the special events of our Prophet and
Imams. Sayid Hassan concluded his speech with a few stories
about Imam Al-Mahdi |
